I said it had to be winning the 2012 Sony award for best entertainment programme. I will always remember getting the phone call and not being able to get to sleep. Tom’s was the same but he said his second best was being on holiday in a caravan and being the only man. He said he was the man of the caravan.

What’s The Sound

On a Wednesday we play What’s The Sound where Tom plays a sound to me and I have to guess what it is. The clue was it comes on land to breed.
Spread it across the country

Labels out here.

At the end of the show I guessed Pitbull – Don’t Stop The Party. The actual answer was Macklemore – Cant Hold Us. Which means Tom gets the point.

On Tuesdays show we started the show by talking about a exam that Tom had. He had a sport studies exam, he wasn’t to sure how he done. But as I always so you can only ever do your best.

The Fact Of The Day

People are most truthful in face to face conversations and lie the most over the phone. Which I suppose is true because your are looking at the person face to face.

Local News

The Council, as part of the Connecting Devon and Somerset BDUK project, recently signed a contract with BT to deliver broadband internet speeds of up to 24mbps to 90% of households in rural parts of the authority.

Staff at Bath & North East Somerset Council are taking part in the national Walk to Work Week 2013 this week, from May 13th – 17th.

The Council has signed-up to the Week which encourages staff to think about how they can walk more during the day. In turn, this may help the organisation save local taxpayers money on things like commuter and electricity costs.

Luke’s Big Update

O2 and Vodafone have confirmed that they will sell the Nokia Lumia 925.

The Windows Phone, which was announced in London earlier today (14/05/13), will come exclusively in white on O2, while Vodafone will be the only network to stock the 32GB version in black.

Snapchat has admitted that it’s “sometimes possible” for users to recover deleted photos.

The app allows users to share pictures which are automatically deleted after ten seconds. Over 150 million images are sent each day.

Netflix has added Disney movies to its streaming service in the UK and Ireland.

Ratatouille, Robin Hood and The Aristocats are among the titles now available.

After 4pm we talked about our new code signals and about chocolate. In radio we need a way to communicate to one another on the air. We have developed some hand signals which means different things. So there is one to say move onto next song and stuff like that. Moving onto the chocolate part of the show, we were given a bar of chocolate each. If you can remember back to Mondays show we talked about our trip to the woods. It was what we won because we won a task. It was the best chocolate that I have ever had, but it was a struggle taking the rapper off.

Spell It

On a Tuesday we play our game spell it. It’s very simple Tom reads out 3 words and I have to spell them correctly to win a point! The words were Women, Listening & Caught. I spelt all 3 correct!

Entertainment News

Olly Murs has unveiled the video for his latest single ‘Dear Darlin”.

Released on June 2, the track is the third to be taken from his chart-topping album Right Place, Right Time.

R Kelly has revealed that he has been writing country music.

The Odd Story Of The Day

A 4-year-old boy from Minnesota is the new mayor of his town.

Robert Tufts was elected for the position last year and will now run Dorset for the next 12 months.

Hey its Luke here from Drivetime!

On Monday’s show we started the show by talking about our day. Tom and I went to the woods near our school to play a few team games. The aim of the game was to find the hidden ball in the forest. My team found ours almost instantly, someone hid it in a really bad. Because the game had only gone on for 20 seconds and we already won, Tom and I were tasked with hiding this ball somewhere off the ground. We found an absolutely amazing place! No one in the end found the ball so Tom and I won! Now the next challenge was finding where we had hid it. But don’t worry we had all of this planned, we put out a few markers to remind us.

The Fact Of The Day

The word “Bed” actually looks like a bed. (Look at the word “Bed” really hard and you will see it!)

A Jetstream aircraft became the first to fly “unmanned” across UK shared airspace last month.

An on-board pilot handled the take-off, and landing.

But during the 500-mile journey, the specially adapted plane was controlled by a pilot on the ground, instructed by the National Air Traffic Services.

Microsoft has announced it will offer a preview version of its first major update to Windows 8 next month.

The news comes after growing criticism of the software’s user interface.

After 4pm we talked about what we would be getting up to in the evening. I said that I didn’t really know, I usually want to relax but that’s hard when you’re always so busy like me. Tom was having the night in.

What’s In The Box

As you know (or if you didn’t you now do) we play What’s In The Box on a Monday. The aim of the game is that Tom puts an item in a box and I have to guess what it is. The clues were that you can use it with your friends & it quite often is used on family games. I wasn’t really sure but when it can to the time of answering the question I just guessed dice. I was correct now making the scores 2 – 1.

Entertainment News

Olly Murs has unveiled the video for his latest single ‘Dear Darlin”.

Released on June 2, the track is the third to be taken from his chart-topping album Right Place, Right Time.

Kings of Leon debuted a new song while on tour at the weekend.

The band played the track ‘Always the Same’ for the first time while performing at the Bottle Rock Music & Arts festival in Napa Valley, California on Saturday (May 11).

The Odd Story Of The Day

A report has forecast that the number of mobile phone subscriptions will surpass the number of people in the world during 2014.

The UN agency report has predicted that mobile subscriptions will surpass seven billion in early 2014, and will overtake the world population by the end of the year.

That’s the show

Hello its Luke here from Drivetime!

We started the show on Thursday by talking about our day. I had some good news I have finished all of my Business & ICT coursework! So it was time for some celebrations. Tom had a great day as well! We are excited about how the weekend is so close and how we are looking forward to it.

The new deal is the cheapest the retailer has ever offered for an iOS smartphone, and was introduced to cater for the growing number of customers looking for a high-end device at an affordable price.

After 4pm we talked about the evening. I said about how on Thursday night I was going to be my relaxing night, but after finding out I was missing stuff on my coursework I had to work on it for the whole evening. So this evening would be my relaxing one. Tom was off to gym to work out and do some gymnastics.

Name That Tune

Okay here were Thursday’s Name That Tune’s lyrics:

Reach to the sky from the bottom

Living out the dreams that have all came true.

Trying to reach to the stars from the heavens.

He was quite crafty when he said it. He said it very slow so I couldn’t get into the rhythm of the song. I had no idea because it didn’t sound right, so I just guessed Calvin Harris – Sweet Nothing. The actual answer was (Drum Roll)… Matrix & Futurebound – All I Know.

Entertainment News

The Odd Story Of The Day

A vehicle was hit by a flying portable toilet on the road. The affected teenage driver was on her way to school. Now how random is that, you’re driving to school and next thing you know a portable toilet fly’s straight into your car.

That’s the show
